The Durham Housing Authority Welcomes New Executive Leadership and Names Chief Operations Officer
DURHAM, NC (JULY 8, 2024) The Durham Housing Authority is pleased to announce filling key roles to its senior team. Ashanti Brown has been promoted to Chief Operations Officer after previously serving as Director of Strategic Management. Sean Buchanan joins DHA as the Deputy Operations Officer, a position that oversees the housing portfolio, IT and Strategic Management. Tonya Crawley is named as the Director of Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Each staff member brings a wealth of Housing Authority experience that will enhance the overall state of The DHA and its mission. With over two decades of industry experience, Mr. Buchanan has formerly worked for Housing Authorities in Baltimore, Newark, NJ, and Chicago. Tonya Crawley has formerly served leading roles at housing authorities in Greenville, SC, Atlanta, and Toledo, OH among others. She also has over 20 years of industry leadership and service. Ashanti Brown has served on DHA's Executive Staff for last seven years and was promoted as a result of her distinguished management leadership and knowledge of housing and community development. Ms. Brown brings over 16 years of Housing Authority experience alongside her newest distinguished colleagues.
