Tribute to Brother Ray Eurquhart

On March 30, 2020, beloved community organizer and Durham institution, Brother Ray Eurquhart, passed away. "Bro Ray" was an active member of the Board of Commissioners of Durham Housing Authority. It is not enough to say he will be missed. He brought wisdom and perspective to our work and a caring for everyone in our community. In the short time he served on our Board, he enhanced our credibility in the community and especially among our residents. He never complained during his battle with his illness, but throughout his tenure on the Board, he rarely missed any event related to the work of DHA. His gentle manner, sense of humor, and love of life will be missed. When this crisis passes, we will get together to acknowledge his work and celebrate his life and the inspiration he provided. Let us all commit to continuing Ray's legacy of advocacy for social justice and reconciliation.
