Important Announcement from TEAMUNITY, DCAB and Black Voters Matter
With so much on the line this election year, the Durham Housing Authority is pleased to partner with Team Unity, the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People, Black Voters Matter and numerous volunteers to encourage our residents to register to vote and get to the polls to cast their ballots on Saturday, October 31, 2020 and Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The impressive partnership will ensure that all two thousand DHA households get voter information along with offers for free rides to the polls for anyone that needs it. In addition to the voter information, DHA is sponsoring "reverse" Halloween by providing candy and COVID-19 supplies to each household.
Over 30 volunteers are poised to give of their time and assist with the GOTV event. Many of these individuals who hold membership in the Divine 9 organizations have invested their time volunteering throughout the year giving service to communities across North Carolina, especially here in Durham. They take time off from their own professional jobs and life responsibilities to make a difference in their communities and this GOTV event is made possible because of their commitment to service above self.
